Where to Eat

If you love food, you're going to love our locally sourced and unmistakably Midwest cuisine and brew. And by the way, we prefer to keep things casual, but don't mind if you dress up. From a decades-old restaurant with famous pies to food trucks to brewpubs, we have something to suit everyone.

Locals enjoy the German/Norwegian favorite of potato klub served at Paula's Steakhouse and Lounge and the homemade soups and sandwiches at the Hillsboro Cafe and Bakery, but aren't strangers to the piping-hot pizzas from The Pizza Shop, the calzones from B&B Family Restaurant or Goose River Brewing's perfectly grilled steaks.

Classic bar food and late-night snacks are served up at the Beehive, BarN and Grill, Vets Club and Blue Line Bar and Grill. Hop in line for a superior dog at Hippie Gone Hotdog, and be sure to arrive early when Cruizin Cafe is in town. Serving everything from smoked brisket to sweet 'n' sour chicken, demand always exceeds supply.

And if you've got a sweet tooth, visit the decades-old Soholt Bakery, with a reputation for the best donuts around, GF Due North Bakery for the area's best gluten-free baked goods or Sundae Brew for homemade ice creams and desserts.
